Hover preview

See it before you paste it.

Hover any item and a rich preview floats beside it — full images, color swatches, formatted code — without opening a thing.

For designers

Colors, done right.

Copy a hex, rgb, or hsl value and Snib shows the real swatch plus the normalized hex. Every color you've touched, in one tidy palette.

Edit before you paste

Tweak any copied text right inside Snib with ⌘E, then paste the clean version. No round-trips.

Code-aware

Snippets are detected and shown in a proper monospaced block — easy to scan and reuse.

Pin what matters

Keep go-to snippets, templates, and links one click away — always at the top.

Unlimited history, optimized

Keep everything forever. Snib loads only what you see, so it stays instant across thousands of items.

100% private & local

Your clipboard never leaves your Mac. No cloud, no account, no tracking. Runs entirely on-device with Hardened Runtime.

Keyboard-first

Global hotkey to open, ⌘1–9 to paste instantly, paste-without-formatting. Mouse optional.

✦ New — Snippets & Templates

Stop retyping. Start expanding.

Snib now does text expansion and reusable fill-in templates. Turn the things you type over and over — signatures, AI prompts, cold emails, canned replies — into a single trigger that drops in finished, personalized text.

Fill-in templates

Your best prompts, one keystroke away.

Put blanks in any snippet with {field:Name}. Trigger it and a tiny form pops up — fill the blanks, watch the preview assemble live, and the finished text pastes itself.

  • Reusable AI prompts — one trigger, fill Topic / Audience / Tone, full prompt lands in your AI chat.
  • Cold outreach & CRM — fill Name + Company, get a personalized message, dated automatically.
  • Reuse a blank in ten places and Snib asks for it once — with a live preview as you type.

Text expansion, anywhere

Type a trigger like ;sig in any app — email, browser, Slack, your CRM, code editors, AI chats — and it expands instantly to your saved text. Stop retyping the same things.

Expansion uses macOS Accessibility permission to type for you. You grant it once and can revoke it anytime — you stay in control.

Snippets in the popup

Forget the trigger? Open Snib, tap the Snippets chip, and browse your whole library. Pick one, paste — no memorizing required.

Sync, iOS, and team boards are not yet — privacy first. Nothing leaves your Mac.

Privacy by design

Your clipboard is nobody's business but yours.

No cloud. No account. No telemetry. Snib is engineered so your most sensitive copies — passwords, tokens, private messages — never leave the machine.

Everything stays on your Mac

History is stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support and never uploaded anywhere.

No account, no sign-in

No email required, ever. Download, launch, and you're working — nothing to register.

Zero analytics or tracking

No telemetry of any kind. Snib never silently phones home — you choose when to update.

Independent & on-device

No publisher between you and the app. Snib runs entirely on your Mac with Hardened Runtime — and because it talks to no servers, there's nothing to phone home. Independence is the point.

You're in control

Ignore specific apps like password managers, set how long history is kept, and clear it anytime.

0

Questions, answered.

Yes — free for everyone during launch, with no account, no trial, and no card. Early adopters keep it free even if pricing is introduced later for new users.

100%. Everything stays on your Mac — no cloud, no account, no tracking, and no telemetry of any kind.

Not today. Snib is local and private by design — nothing leaves your machine. Sync would mean sending your clipboard somewhere, and that is the opposite of the point.

macOS 14 (Sonoma) and newer, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.

Yes — to type your expanded text into other apps, Snib needs macOS Accessibility permission. You grant it once in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, and you can turn it off anytime. The clipboard history itself works without it. You stay in control.

Download Snib.dmg, drag Snib into Applications, and launch it. The first time, right-click Snib → Open (or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway) and confirm. Because Snib is independent and distributed straight from us — not through Apple’s servers — macOS asks you to approve the first launch. That one tap is the trade-off for an app that never sends your data anywhere.

Yes. Snib makes zero network requests — your clipboard never leaves your Mac. It’s built independently and runs on-device only, so there’s nothing to upload, sync, or leak. You can verify it makes no connections using Little Snitch or macOS’s own network tools.

Smarter content detection (colors, code, links), richer filtering and previews, fully private with no cloud — and free. See the comparison above for the full breakdown.

Stop losing what you copy.

Install Snib in seconds and never dig through your history blind again.
